Yellow & Brown look

This was a really different look for me as I don't usually find yellows suit me.  I actually did this twice because the first time the yellow looked really muddy.  I think my skin color and the yellow just don't get a long.  The second time around I used NYX milk on the lower lid then applied the yellow and it looked much better.

Eyes: Detrivore primer, NYX Milk applied to lower lid.

Miniature Sun (from the upcoming DarlingGrrl! collection) on lower lid

Black Rose Minerals - Minky crease

Shy Violet - Inner eye, from tear duct area and swept upward to brow bone.  You can kind of see it in the above photo.  The sparkly blue is Shy Violet.

Liner: Upper lash line - Random Black Liner with Rise Above layered over it.

lower lash line same black liner with Shy Violet over it.

Face: 50/50 mix of Lucy Minerals in Medium and Silica

Cheeks: She-Bop

Lips: Oh My Darling (Will be released at the end of the month.)

Don't know why I have the *pout face* :P

Cherry Cordial

I don't know why but this reminded me of cherry cordial even though there is no brown or red in this look. :P

Eyes: Detrivore primer, unreleased pink water color paint pot on lower lid as base.

Snuggle - center part of lid.

Sleek reddish purple from the Monaco palette outer third and lower lash line

Liner: Tarte Silver/Black on water line.

Mascara: Maybelline One by One in blackest Black

Face: 50/50 mix of Lucy Minerals in Medium and Silica

Cheeks: Be Still My Heart (Valentine 2012, not released yet)

Lips: Heart of Gold (Valentine 2012, not released yet)

My favorite makeup brushes!

I have a couple of facebook pages that I frequent and it seems that a question that is asked a lot is regarding makeup brushes.  Which ones to use?  What are decent but inexpensive? So I thought I would share what brushes I couldn't live with out.  This is just my opinion and what I have found that works for me.  Keep in mind I am a cheapskate. :P

Top row: Abbamart flat edge eye liner brush

Second row:  cheapie elf blending brush

Third Row Forever Female Ultimate flat top buffer

Fourth row: Forever female Ultimate Angled eye shadow brush

5th Row:  EcoTools

Tiny brush on the right: AbbaMart

Far right: Fibre Optic blush brush

Abbamart Flat Eye Defining Brush Retail $3.00

This is my favorite eye liner brush because I can get the thinnest line with this brush and with the little lid space I have a think line is what I am looking for most of the time.  Plus at $3.00, what a steal?

Another view so you can see how thin the brush head is.

ELF Blending Brush Retail $1.00

My cheapie ELF brush is a must have for blending for me and at a buck I always have a few back ups.  I've tried other blending brushes but honestly this one works just as well.

Ultimate Flat Top Buffer Retail $23.95

I love this brush because it's big and dense and covers a lot of space at once.  I have seen other places sell these other than Forever Female, but that is where I purchases them.  A little spendy but they have held up beautifully and I have had them for a couple of years now.

Ultimate Angled Eye Shadow Brush Retail $11.95

I love this brush because of the synthetic bristle and how densely they are packed together.  I don't seem to get as much 'powder cloud' when I use this and it tends to eat less of my shadows.

EcoTool Eye Shading Brush Retail $4.99

This brush I use for all my potted bases.  I couldn't find the exact brush online, but I think this may actually be a concealer brush.  Somehow the bristles on this brush just work really well with my Watercolor Paint Pots and my ELF cream shadows.

Abbamart Mini Precision Crease Brush Retail $2.50

This little brush was a god send for me.  I have hooded lids and most of the precision brush heads are too big for me plus the short handle is a plus for me because I am blind as a bat and with the short handle I can get really close to the mirror so I can see what the heck I am doing. :P

Unfortunately I don't remember where I got this brush at. :S

For the life of me I can't remember where I got this brush, but I know it was under $3.00 and the quality is crap, but I still love it.  I can apply any blush no matter how pigmented with this brush.  I was sad to find out when I washed it today that the handle is starting to crack.  I am not sure how much longer it will last, but I've had it for about 3 years now.  I guess I will have to hunt for a suitable replacement soon.

What are you go to makeup brushes?

Abnormally Luxe...

So, I was a total copycat but Wendi of Makeup Zombie did this totally killer look with gold and a darker crease shade and when I saw it I knew I had to do something similar.  I really love how this look turned out and can totally see myself doing this again.

Face: 50/50 mix of Lucy Minerals in Medium and Silica.

Cheeks: She-Bop DuoChrome blush

Lips. Ms. Nude'tude (not released yet)

Eyes: A primer I am testing out

An unreleased Watercolor Paint Pot on lower lid

Luxe all over lower lid

Detrivore Abnormal an awesome burnished green for the crease color with Luxe blended over it to blended the two colors together

WnW black cliner upper and lower lash line.

Lower lash line smudged a little Luxe on outer corner, Abnormal center a silver from the Sleek Sparkle palette I think on the inner corner of lower lash line.

Mascara: Maybelline One by One in Blackest Black

Quick 5 minute face

Generally during the week all I have time for is a 5 minute face, so I thought I would share a really simple but fast look using a newly reformulated Aqua Liner and an unreleased Spectral Shift.

Close up of the eyes.

What I used:

Eyes: elf $1 primer

Dusty Rose Spectral Shift applied to the crease, then Aqua Liner (no name yet) lined thickly then finger smudged. Tarte SmolderEYES in expresso to tightline and Maybelline One by One in Blackest Black

You can spy my new Calloh and Callay poodle necklace. <3

Face: a blend of Lucy Minerals in Medium and Pretty Pampered Primer Powder

Cheeks:  Sweet Coron Sweet Cheeks blush

Lips:  Bewitched Holo-Gloss

Aqua Liner used (unreleased)

Dusty Rose Spectral Shift (unreleased)

Above you can see how the Aqua Liner looks when first applied; then after blending.  I really love this for a easy quick look.

What is your 5 minute face?

Shop is re-open

Just thought I would give anyone a heads up that doesn't know. The shop is re-open. :D I still have about a full week of filling orders to be caught up through the 9th when I shut down the cart, but I don't want to hinder the sales of Twin Peaks for Team Pink Eye. As usual I will keep you all updated via Facebook and Twitter on where I am at with shipping. <3

Last Call....

Update:  Last call on tinted lip balms.  I am pulling them at the end of the day.  Then I will sort out which shades will be d/c'd and which will fall under the new category  - Kiss You Off - Color Rich Lip Balms.  Don't fear though if a shade has been d/c'd and you just can't live without it I can most like still get you some  unless a pigment has been d/c'd which seems to be happening a lot lately.
